Noisy, noisy, noisy....
Oh god, I feel like crap this morning. The traffic was just unbearable last night; horns going all night, great big trucks roaring through till the early hours and starting up again at sparrow's fart this morning. I really have to either get some ear plugs or some sleeping pills. I've already asked to be moved to a back room but they are either more expensive than the one I've paid for or they don't have a bathroom attached...I can put up with a lot but I wan't my own bathroom! I will take some time today and get to a pharmacy and hopefully get a decent nights sleep tonight....OK, whinge over, back to normal.

Not sure what your set up is but my advice is to move. Hanoi isn't the quietest place but I reckon in you're in one of the noisier spots.
ReplyDeleteAgain, I don't know what your budget is or whether you work more in the KOTO restaurant or the training centres but there are a few hotels on Xuan Dieu that might be a better bet.
Failing that why not put a notice on the New Hanoian and see if you can get a share room in a house of like minded people.
Noise is just something that comes with life in Hanoi, even in my quiet house down a back alley I've builders that start at 7am and a cockerel that crows from 5. But at least I've no night time traffic noise.
If it was KOTO that set you up with the hotel then have a quiet word with them - don't suffer in silence. They're used to foreigners struggling with the noise and I'm sure they'd help.
Good luck.
